Uto identifies herself as a wandering bard, dressing up in such clothing and plays the ocarina, albeit very bad. In reality, she is a second-year middle school student who is a Chūnibyō. Name/Birthday Pun Explanation: Nakaji (中二) is a different reading for the kanji "中二" which is used in 中二病 (Chuunibyou). Uto (詩人) is a different reading for the kanji 詩人 (shijin), which literally means "poet". Uto's birthday is May 16th, the day renowned poet Mastuo Bashō set off on his journey to be described in Oku no Hosomichi in 1689, also known as Traveler's Day (旅の日 Tabi no hi) in Japan.
