Girl #9 Yuuko Sakaki is a troubled girl with big ears, who witnesses Ooki's accidental death and blames Shuuya for it. Later, she joins up with several other girls and hides in an abandoned lighthouse.
When the girls find Shuuya and bring him in, she poisons his food. The food, however, is instead eaten by Yuka Nakagawa, who quickly dies. The girls soon turn on each other and kill each other in a violent gun fight. Yuuko survives this confrontation.
In the novel and manga, Yuuko runs from Shuuya. When she gets to the top of the lighthouse, her foot slips, and she falls. Shuuya catches her and tries to pull her up, despite his severe injuries. Yuuko realizes that Shuuya is responsible for saving her life, even though he suffers agonizing pain, and this leads her to realize that he is good after all; her friends died in vain. Yuuko pries her hand free from the bars, and falls to her death. Yuuko dies thirty-third in the manga.
