Konami Cross Media NY (Konami Cross Media NY, Inc.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Konami Digital Entertainment and is responsible for the brand management, licensing, and marketing of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, as well as the production and distribution of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series outside of Japan. The company was founded in May of 2012, as an indirect subsidiary of Konami Group Corporation named 4K Acquisition Corp., with the sole purpose of acquiring the now-defunct 4Kids Entertainment’s (later 4Licensing Corporation) assets. By June 2012, the company came to an agreement with 4Kids Entertainment, where it would acquire their rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime franchise, which included — aside from all production materials — 4Kids’ internet domain names, website assets, print publications, and music and sound recording rights, as well as their production unit (4Kids Productions). It was later renamed to 4K Media (4K Media, Inc.) in September of the same year. On April 1, 2019, its corporate name was changed to Konami Cross Media NY (Konami Cross Media NY, Inc.), to reflect on its expansion of managing Konami's brands outside of video games.
Outside of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, Konami Cross Media NY also manages the following Konami video game properties: Bomberman, Contra and Frogger. Rounding out the company's IP is Rebecca Bonbon, an anime brand targeted for girls created by Yuko Shimizu.
