HORNETS (HORNETS Inc.) is a Japanese animation studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. Former SynergySP employees led by Masanobu Hatta — animation producer for Major (2008-2012) and Beast Saga — established HORNETS Inc. in December of 2013. The studio’s name was inspired by the fictional baseball team — Indiana Hornets — in Takuya Mitsuda's manga series Major.
From December 2013 to August 2016, HORNETS had operated a photography department. The studio’s photography department was established when SynergySP transferred its photography department into HORNETS in December of 2013. In August 2016, its photography department was incorporated into a separate company from HORNETS named Tplus, Inc.
