BLADE (BLADE Co., Ltd.) is a Japanese animation studio and an affiliate of Miyoshi Logistics based in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan.
Established as TOKYO ANIMAIDPLAZA Co., Ltd. in July 1990, it launched Cafe ASAN in the shopping mall 2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN located under the elevated railway between Okachimachi Station and Akihabara Station in December 2010. In February of the following year, Norio Yoshida—a former producer at Anime International Company (AIC)—joined the company and founded the animation studio BLADE at TOKYO ANIMAIDPLAZA. In June 2014, Norio Yoshida succeeded Kiyoshi Yoshida as representative director and president, changing the company name to BLADE Co., Ltd.
In January 2021, Cafe ASAN was sold to Frontier One—an animation studio founded in August 2016 by Taizo Ohara, a former producer at AIC Frontier.
The studio's name is derived from its desire to maintain an aggressive, forward-thinking approach—symbolizing a sword that cuts through and shapes the world of anime and a "blade server," its ambition to handle all aspects of the anime, video, and character business industries.
