New Interest Stack
Interest StacksThis is a stack with anime that take place in different European countries, either completely or in several episodes when characters are traveling to these countries. 1. Cast is all-girl This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). Anime series not so well known for their titles, some not necessarily underestimated, but easy to go unnoticed in the community. Shows, OVAs and movies with Historical European fashion, setting, or both. Anime about traveling, discovering, and aimlessly wandering in search of a goal. If any of these have multiple seasons I usually mean all of them. Includes: Series that fall under the found family trope, with a parent figure and a child or children (not necessarily blood-related) that have a familial bond. Anime with emo or whatever 2000s nostalgia. Wide-spaced too huge eyes, large forehead, tiny mouth, moe-blob. Some has y2k fashion or catchy tunes. Some are not to watch with other people unless you know they're fine with it. I haven't really watch any of them so I only picked based on thumbnail art-style. Always read reviews + genre tags before watching. The Japanese word "iyashi" (癒し) means healing, and the term "iyashikei" refers to anime and manga that "heal" the audience by instilling a calming feeling or evoking emotional carthasis. Almost always, Iyashikei stories have peaceful, somewhat mundane, and nostalgic atmospheres. The settings are idyllic with little or no conflict, and the narratives focus on personal reflection, heartwarming moments, a vague sense of melancholy, and/or an appreciation for the small things in life. Anime which craft a relaxing and warm atmosphere through focus on detailed backgrounds, slow pacing, and calming music. The type of show that will put you to sleep, in a good way. This stack is dedicated to a variety of anime, the events of which either directly take place in a Victorian setting, or emulate it in one way or another through (dark) steampunk or romantic aesthetics and philosophy. I also included shows with significant inspiration from Victorian history or literature. Given the setting, most of these anime are pretty gothic and sophisticated, but that wasn't the end in itself. |
