Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition.

Based on judging by a jury of artistic peers, awards are given in four categories: Art (formerly called Non-Interactive Digital Art), Entertainment (formerly called Interactive Art; including video games and websites), animation, and manga. Within each category, one Grand Prize, four Excellence Prizes, and (since 2002) one Encouragement Prize are awarded.

The Animation Kobe (アニメーション神戸) was an event established by Kobe in 1996 to promote anime and other visual media. The Animation Kobe Awards (アニメーション神戸賞) were given annually until 2015 by Kobe and the Organizing Committee to creators and creations.

The TV animations broadcast in Japan from September of the previous year to August of the event year, excluding rebroadcasts, become candidates. The candidates are selected not only from Japan but also from other countries. However, the committee sees more importance in a point of view promoting young creators of Japan.

Over years, anime and manga have been introducing more and more strong and unique female characters, either as main protagonists/antagonists or as important supporting characters. I hope that with this list, everyone could know, appreciate and love these powerful female characters, regardless of what gender they are.

If you were a child in Australia in the late-2000s to early 2010s, then you might remember ABC3, and all the anime they used to show. These shows got me to start watching anime, and will bring a sense of nostalgia to anybody who used to frequent ABC3.

I'm not including ABC ME stuff because ABC ME will never replace ABC3 in my heart.

I'm probably missing some shows, but this is what I could find and remember.

These animes were the landmarks in anime industry. Critically acclaimed shows and popular for its story, characters, development, and the amazing experience that the audience might feel. Some of them are old and modern, but it has the same level of "masterpiece" that I've seen so far.

This collection was composed of mystery and horror animes. Some of animes were purely mystery and some of them were combination of both. They are great shows that will make your mind blown and thrilled at the same time. It may be the animes aren't meant for everyone but I still hope you'll give it a try.
