Saiyuuki Gaiden

These are all some of my favorite fantasy Shoujo anime! There’s a lot of fantasy shounen but it’s rare to find people with a huge list of Shoujo fantasy and if they do have one it tends to be a lot of the same stuff. Here’s mine. I hope you find something new to watch. If not, I’m sorry for not being helpful enough. I’ll also be adding donghua (Chinese anime) in here because a lot of them are really worth watching. There’s one anime on here that airs in the fall but I’ve read and am obsessed with the source material and the trailers look amazing so I feel comfortable putting it on here. They are in rank from my highest score to lowest. FYI just because something might be ranked low doesn’t mean that it’s bad, it’s in my favorites list after all. Also, just because these are Shoujo anime doesn’t necessarily mean they all are romances. Enjoy!

Pisces is the last of the 12 zodiacs. Pisces are well known for being the most dreamy, compassionate, creative, and romantic of the zodiacs. Ruled by Aphrodite and Eros, Pisces is the most beautiful of the signs.

Some animated characters that are Pisces include: Princess Hibana from Fire Force, Midnight and Mirko from MHA, Konan from Naruto, Mary Saotome from Kakegurui, Flora from Winx Club, Lola Bunny (Looney Tunes Show version mostly), and Starfire from Teen Titans.

Here are some anime that I feel radiate Pisces energy or will be enjoyed by my fellow Pisceans, whether it's due to their mystical + mysterious settings and characters, or their heartwarming relationships! (both romantic and platonic) <3

On Mal, There are over 1000 Shonen anime listed, 1000 Seinen anime listed, 491 Shoujo anime listed... and 150 Josei anime listed. The amount of Josei anime in circulation is extremely disproportionate to the amount of other Demographics, which is sad for all the Josei lovers out there.

To cope, I decided to create an interest stack with anime that I THINK can pass as Josei anime despite not having the tag, due to certain criteria such as:

-Written by a woman
-Complex + mature themes/relationships
-Well written female characters, of course!

The Josei Demographic is extremely varied, with romantic shows like one would expect such as Hakuouki and Kakiriyo, to action anime with an almost Shonen feel like 07-Ghost and Saiyuuki.

This is just my own take on the "Anime for Beginners" discourse. These are the shows that I've recommended to people who wanted to get into anime or just think they're "Those weird Asian cartoons", with great results! Explanations/Justifications for each one as well. <3 Even long time fans can use this as a recommendation guide for their watchlist!
