There are good anime that stop after one or two seasons despite the source material still having a lot of good ground to cover, much to everyone's disappointment. So we wait, and wait and wait... for nothing.

This list features a selection of notable incomplete adaptations that have stuck in the limbo for at least five years without any new announcements, in most cases far longer than that. For simplicity's sake, I will only include the chronologically latest entry in the series, not the highest-rated or most widely known. The notability guideline I'm using is roughly based on a combination of rating and popularity at the time of inclusion.

What this list DOESN'T include:
* any original anime;
* any inconclusively finished anime based on games, mixed-media projects, or any other non-written sources;
* adaptations with anime-original endings meant to serve as a conclusion to the series (I strive to verify every entry in this regard, but please do inform me if something has been added in error);
* incomplete adaptations of manga and LNs that have gone on long or even indefinite hiatuses themselves, leaving potential new seasons of TV adaptation without enough content (e.g. Hunter x Hunter, Nana);
* adaptations of officially discontinued manga and LNs, as it's obvious the publisher isn't interested in having them done;
* incomplete adaptations with anime-original endings that stop before the part of the source material that very distinctly made the series' fans unhappy (Usagi Drop is a good example).

I also reserve the right not to include adaptations with anime-original ambiguous endings if there is no greater overarching plot thread carried on in the source material, or if the source material also ends ambiguously without wrapping it all up. Those are low-priority items.

See also the counterpart to this list: NotLikeThis — anime-original sequels nobody wanted: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/2355.

List alumni:
* Slam Dunk – a new movie has been announced, which will presumably pick up where the previous adaptation ended and cover the last game in the manga, which is also its best part.
* Spice and Wolf — a whole new season has been announced! Woof!

Denpa as a genre usually refers to Japanese artistic works with themes associated with social isolation, existentialism, insanity that stems from living modern society, and the glorification of otaku/outsider cultures. Examples of denpa in other mediums include the films of Hideaki Anno (Love and Pop, Ritual) and the films of Shunji Iwai (All About Lily Chou-Chou), as well as the visual novel Wonderful Everyday Down the Rabbit-hole.

For more about denpa, check out this excellent blogpost about the genre: https://ontheones.wordpress.com/2019/06/29/on-denpa-a-guest-article-by-kenji-the-engi/

Girls who like to tease and troll. The person they are trolling may or may not be their love interest. Limited to anime I've seen.

Best nuns in anime by appearance.

Note:
Some entries are not actually nuns (as noted) but I included them out of popularity and their garb.

Romans 14:11

For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall give praise to God.”

Praise Christ.

from the animelon 'about' page:

"Learning a language can be difficult; often times it is boring and tedious, so we want to help the language learning community by providing a more entertaining and engaging way to learn. The idea of Animelon is to provide interactive tools that assist users in learning Japanese as they watch anime. If you love watching anime, why not make more out of the time spent?"

this is part of a series of stacks on the japanese-language-learning-focused anime streaming site animelon. the anime are listed first in order of difficulty ranking according to JPDB, from the easiest (level 1) to the most difficult (level 10), and then by MAL members of the earliest season listed. I will include include all seasons, entries etc. that are available on animelon, with notes that include information on other series entries.

It includes all kinds of sci-fi anime subgenres from dystopian, utopian, aliens, space operas, comedy, dark and psychological etc. A variety of selection to explore the world of my favourite genre which is sci-fi. It includes extremely serious nerve wrecking stories to absolutely light hearted fun ones.

Main characteristics (contains at least two):
- Doesn't invoke many emotions
- Somewhat long series (24 episodes)
- Little to no plot
- Feel-good type show
- Mainly about characters' day-to-day life

Akiyuki Shinbo is a Japanese animator, director, compositional writer, and storyboard artist. Best known for his works with Shaft, he has attained international recognition for his unique visual style and storytelling methods.

Shinbo began his career in the early 1980s as an animator, but his true rise to fame in the industry occurred when he received the opportunity to direct for series produced by Pierrot at the turn of the decade and early 90s. His unique style developed across the studio's productions, cultivating in Yu Yu Hakusho, which led to his debut as a series director with the J.C.Staff television series Metal Fighter Miku (1994). Over the next several years, Shinbo developed his directorial style through numerous avenues in the industry; and the pure form of his style has been described as coalescing in series like The SoulTaker (2001) and Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (2004).

In 2004, Shinbo was invited by newly appointed Shaft president Mitsutoshi Kubota to collaborate with the studio as a director. Since the newfound collaborative effort's debut with Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase (2004), he has mentored various directors and won numerous awards for his productions with the studio. His notable directorial works with Shaft include the Monogatari series (2009–present), Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011), and March Comes In like a Lion (2016–2018).
