Dragon Ball is a Japanese media franchise created by Akira Toriyama in 1984. The initial manga, written and illustrated by Toriyama, was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 to 1995, with the 519 individual chapters collected in 42 tankōbon volumes by its publisher Shueisha. Azteca 7 (with its main transmission headquarters in the signal call XHIMT-TDT), is a private Mexican television network owned by Televisión Azteca. Its generalist programming has been characterized (in most of its history) by having a youthful and children's cut with the broadcast of cartoons and comedy series, which has made it the main competitor at the national level in free-to-air TV, Televisa's Canal 5. Daisuke Nishio is a Japanese animator and director. He joined Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) as animator in 1981. After doing several TV series, he was promoted to assistant director on Dr. Slump - Arale-chan in 1982. He debuted as director for Dragon Ball in 1986 and made his film debut that same year with Dragon Ball: The Legend of Shenlong. Nishio also directed its sequel TV series, Dragon Ball Z, and several of its films. |
