Synopsis

Due to a sudden accident, twins Haruka and Sora Kasugano have lost both of their parents. Starting their lives anew, they return to their childhood home—living once again in the rural, quaint town like they did four years ago.

However, revisiting such a nostalgic place also means recalling all the memories the two of them made together, be it those that gave them blissful joy or those that made them suffer painful sorrow. Meeting both old acquaintances and new companions alike, the story of Haruka and Sora only gets more convoluted as their lives are slowly influenced by different acts of love, friendship, envy—and perhaps even lust.

I'll be honest, I went into Yosuga no Sora expecting a trashy ecchi fest. But, as I watched the entire series, I discovered a complex, emotional story that left me torn.

The siblings' story, Sora and Haruka, hit close to home. Losing parents at a young age, they're forced to navigate love, loss, and identity without guidance. Their struggles feel raw, real.

The controversy surrounding this anime? Valid, to an extent. Haru's actions are infuriating, and I pitied Akira and Nao, who deserved better. But, I also understood Haru's 17-year-old hormones and vulnerability.

That ending, though... Open to interpretation, but gut-wrenching either way. Some see hope; others, despair. ...

What the fuck did I just watch? Close your eyes and step away slowly from this anime, kids, cos this one ain't for the faint of heart. It plays out more like a horror than a romance anime and I would seriously recommend the tag be added (case in point, the rain and thunder creepy atmosphere as episode 1 draws to a close with a disturbing scene which cannot be unseen). Despite all its grotesque shortcomings, for some reason which I cannot fathom, this anime somehow has quite excellent production quality, especially for its time (made in 2010), with a great showcasing of animation quality, ...

Its a phenomenal show, since i have never played LN in my life but this series was something i didn't absolutely expected although the first few routes of the show was kind of alright, Sora's route definitely got me watching till the end, who would have expected they embraced each other in the end and just fucked until the end of the series. The twins love story is quite new to me, since there's only a few of incest stories (please don't do this in real life though), to my countless hours of watching romances, the twins love story route is my go to romances. ...
