The Animation Film Award (アニメーション映画賞) is an award given to the best animated feature film at the Mainichi Film Awards. The award was established to reward large scale cinematic animation, enabling the Oofuji Noburou Award to focus on shorter pieces. This award was first presented in 1989 for Kiki's Delivery Service by Hayao Miyazaki. Animeby

Films that were nominated for the Best Animation of the Year prize given by the Japan Academy Film Prize Association, first awarded in 2007. All five nominees are awarded the Excellent Animation of the Year (優秀アニメーション作品) by the association. Anime with a loner protagonist. Well, at least at the start since introducing new characters is unavoidable. I'm only including the ones where the solitary mindset has been somewhat emphasised. This list contains all movies that aren't related with any anime series. (Pre 2014) This list consists of psychological titles, which helped me to accept inevitability and cope with fears, thus affected my personality above all others. Anime that makes you realise a lot about the meaning of human life and death, relationships, principles and most important: "self-concept". What I look for the most in an anime above everything else is high-quality writing. That's not to say that manga, visual novel, and light novel adaptations are written poorly; in fact, there are some that have incredible, masterfully-crafted storylines. I have simply personally found that some of the most unforgettable series for me have been novel adaptations. The "Scotland Loves Anime" film festival takes place every October in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was started in 2010 and includes the "Golden Partridge" jury award and audience-voted awards. A stack of animes with main characters battling depression, deep trauma, or other mental health conditions. These animes are often about outcasted MCs and may make you feel an alienation kinda vibe. I have compiled the animes that have achieved a certain quality with their story and animation and are loved by the majority, with my own short titles. If you don't have much time and are looking for an anime movie, you can check this list. Is it true that there's no better salvation than not being born in this world? Is the world that ugly that it's not worth living in? Should I even give it a chance? Anime that has the smoothest animation/art style that you shouldn't miss. Something with many frames per second as well as beautiful, vibrant colors, that you don't have a single moment where you'll feel bored. Flaws... don't go away easily for a lot of people. Whether you're trying to embrace fear, loss, or even trying to fit in when you're different in society really. The cure for so many things is connection and we may think "no one wants to connect with me" but all we need is just to find the right people who appreciate us. Someone who hears our voices, someone who appreciates our existence and accepts us for who we are A list of anime that deals with mental illness or other neurodivergence. It may be a main part of the show or just something a main character deals with that contributes to the plot in some way. This is going to be an incomplete stack as I have only seen around 400 shows and there are probably so many that I have missed. If you comment on my profile one that belongs and why, I would love to add it. This is stack of predominantly non-comedic, Slice of Life anime. These anime are not entirely devoid of comedic elements, but comedy features rather sparsely and isn't a key plot-device. Some of the anime featured here uses the opportunity to deal with and provides an insight into complex subject matters, ranging from Depression to Gender-identity, in a realistic and humane way. This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). Shows where some characters are written and portrayed outside what is considered the standard "man" or "woman". This is my first interest stack so I just wanted to have fun with it and recommend some animes I liked under this particular idea ;^) The shows I picked have, in various ways, changed and shaped the person I am. Some I look back and realize I needed to see it in that time, but I don't feel that way anymore. Some just have very important and memorable moments that I refer back to often. |
