In both series, the girl likes a guy, but he doesn't seem to feel the same way until something crazy happens to the girl which brings them both together. The girl acts more child-like and friendly than her normal self, and the guy mellows out because of her.

If you would like to explore similar premises in different anime projects, the shows both have something to offer. Both shows are a slightly different comedic take on the similar premise of diverging consciousness in a school setting. Nanaka focuses on child aspects of this and Sprite Between Worlds the mature. I feel a recommendation is warranted for those who want random anime factoids.

Nanaka 6/17 and elfen lied, the main characters, Lucy and Nanaka both have split personalities. one personality happy go lucky, and the second one is very deep and mature and totally opposite of their other side of themselves. Both do involve romance. Nanaka is happy go lucky kind of feeling anime, and elfin lied is dark and deep though

The two main characters switch ages- One becomes a kid and the other becomes an adult. The atmosphere is the same as the last few episodes of Nanaka. There's also one boy that they both care about that has different connections with them both
