The Animation Kobe (アニメーション神戸) was an event established by Kobe in 1996 to promote anime and other visual media. The Animation Kobe Awards (アニメーション神戸賞) were given annually until 2015 by Kobe and the Organizing Committee to creators and creations. This stack is a collection of anime that are either set during winter or convey winter vibes (for example are set in a cold region with snow/ice). Facing reality, rejecting the fantasy, and not running away from our issues. Embrace life! This collection was composed of mystery and horror animes. Some of animes were purely mystery and some of them were combination of both. They are great shows that will make your mind blown and thrilled at the same time. It may be the animes aren't meant for everyone but I still hope you'll give it a try. They are still enjoyable to watch. They may be exceptionally intelligent, possess Superhuman strength, hypersonic Speed & Agility… But some of them are also fearful, aloof, ditzy, clumsy, lazy, gluttonous, greedy, childish and/or terribly near-sighted: Cyborgs, Robots, Androids, A. I. Projections who - on second glance - are NOT that 'perfect' after all but rather more similar to any living Human of Flesh & Blood, and that's probably why we tend to fall for them so easily... Most adaptations are, at best, on par with the original. Some aspects are better, some worse, so it's down to preference as to how to enjoy a story. There are, of course, many, *many* outright stinkers that make one think the original was far worse than it actually was. But sometimes there comes an adaptation made with such outstanding effort, it elevates the source material onto a completely new level of experience: either through masterful editing or reimagining of the original narrative, or visionary direction, or incredible sound design, or career-topping performance from animators and/or voice actors. There are good anime that stop after one or two seasons despite the source material still having a lot of good ground to cover, much to everyone's disappointment. So we wait, and wait and wait... for nothing. The "Scotland Loves Anime" film festival takes place every October in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was started in 2010 and includes the "Golden Partridge" jury award and audience-voted awards. My personal recommendations for amazing "SOL" anime that have subtle/intensive feels and deep themes/ideas. Mystery is my favorite genre, so trust me when I say I know what I'm talking about... kinda... Melancholy, sadness, nostalgia, and sorrow, are mixed up with surreal colors and beautiful animation. This is a list of anime that Quentin has either watched and liked or anime that he would most likely enjoy, based on his filmography of non-linear narratives and overall taste of foreign movies, for example. |
