New Interest Stack
Interest StacksAdult Swim (stylized as [adult swim] or abbreviated as [as]) is an American timeshare cable television network bundled with Cartoon Network. The programs featured on Adult Swim are geared toward teens and young adults. Broadcast since 2001, much of the network's general content is known for its risqué, unorthodox and often bizarre presentation, while many of the series' features are developed in stark contrast with traditional American television programs. The block features stylistically varied animated and live-action shows including original programming, syndicated shows and Japanese anime, generally with minimal or no editing for content. Classic 20th-century series and films that most old-school otaku have heard of and many older fans will cite as the reason they became a life-long weeb in the first place. Some have gotten sequels or modern reboots, while others have been relegated to the past and stand alone as fondly-remembered products of their time. If you want to take a journey through anime history, these shows are the place to start! Each of the following are one of the most popular anime set in or heavily inspired by an associated Japanese prefecture. They are ordered from Hokkaido to Okinawa (roughly north to south). I created this interest stack to show you some of the gems that are hidden here, it's not always easy to find these animes or get a recommendation to watch some of them, I hope you like them as much as I do, thank you for those who read this far and good anime. In this stack each prefecture will have only one representative and the direction will be by the Japanese ISO (ISO 3166-2:JP). Largest groups (1-50): This is the list of anime that I grew up with during the 90s and 00s era. This list may appeal to millennials or anyone who may be interested (still updating) PBS affiliate KTEH (now KQEH) aired lots of anime in the US in the late 90s and early 2000s, much of which was never seen before on television in the USA Because it's pretty much impossible to understand otherwise and all of the lists that exist are... inconsistent. This is based on the list fictionhorizon made. I haven't watched it myself, so if there are any issues, feel free to hit me up with corrections. Part Three of the retro sensation that is gripping the nation! For better or worse these are the anime worth your time from days gone by. |
