Interest StacksShows that Masami Okui has sung in, has been credited in, or is plainfully obvious that it's her. (ex: Akazukin Chacha) Here's a bunch of goodies lacking love, many of which are obscure, others just underappreciated. Almost all of them lean more towards being lighthearted, cute and silly. (Not necessarily all at once.) Lots of adventure, too! Keep in mind that they're not all "must-see", but this should still be a great source for finding something new and enjoyable. A list of magical girl shows released between 1966 and 1998. Made using this awesome tumblr post: https://chiibinomonodamon.tumblr.com/post/99031991319/there-you-go-every-fcking-magical-girl-from Welcome to my Obscurity series, which I hope will help you delve deeper into the depths of anime, particularly the classics. A list of anime containing ecchi elements, but are not tagged as ecchi by MAL. While the ecchi content may not be as prevalent or extreme as officially-tagged ecchi titles, there is still enough to be of interest to fans of the ecchi genre. Many of these register at least 1.5/3 stars on AniDB's "tag-weighting" system for ecchi. Includes all* anime on the Anime+/GRAPH mahou shoujo/magical girl achievement list A comprehensive list of my favorite Mahou Shoujo anime from its golden age in the 1990s to the genre's unfortunate fizzling out in the early 2010s. A collection of Cheerful, Lively, and Bright feeling anime. Anime that feel optimistic, and have a certain pleasant feel to them. Ikuko Ito is one of my favorite animators of all time. Here's a collection of some of the work she's done as both a creator, character designer and animation director. :) Some of these are questionable, like Suisei no Gargantia can be argued to be fully sci-fi, but there is a feel to it that makes me include it, along with organic and archaic elements that are woven together in a way that makes this appear more fantastical than your average sci-fi. Similarly, Gankutsuou is sci-fi with advanced technology, but it's futuristic imagery is conceptualized to cohere with the elegant 19th century setting of Dumas' novel. I'm also avoiding the inclusion of more than one entry per series, so if season 1 is on here, then season 2 likely fits just as much. Volume II: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/53730 Series that belong to the magical girl genre where a male character plays an important, non-antagonistic role. One season per show, but remakes are valid to count separately Chiaki J. Konaka is a Japanese writer and novelist. He was the head writer of anime series such as Serial Experiments Lain, Digimon Tamers, and Hellsing, as well as the television drama Ultraman Gaia. Anime with various degrees and types of "moe" aesthetics that began after Neon Genesis Evangelion and before Azumanga Daioh. Moe and moe-adjacent aesthetics do exist before this time period, but they are not included in this this because I wanted to specifically focus on the aforementioned time period (maybe I'll make a "proto-moe" stack that includes them). |
