This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious).   Is it true that there's no better salvation than not being born in this world? Is the world that ugly that it's not worth living in? Should I even give it a chance?   history doesn't repeat itself in the anime world.   List of animes that predicted the future.   Characters are ripped from society and placed in the wild to fend for themselves. Or the world ends, but they survived the initial blow.   some nights you just want to not be ok. when you can relate to that, these series are for you   Shows/Movies of all kinds that are either meant for or can be enjoyed by an older audience. A treasure trove of excellence covering a wide range. Story-driven thrillers, well researched historical shows, brilliant world-constructions, poetic narrations, gripping thrillers, dark comedies, complex future visions, tightly packed action, avant-garde art, solid entertainment, tear-jerking dramas to light-hearted slices of lives.   (some have must-read descriptions!)  This title captures the essence of the list, emphasizing the exploration of human emotions, relationships, and personal growth that these anime series offer. It highlights the profound impact these shows can have on viewers by tugging at their heartstrings and taking them on emotional journeys through captivating narratives.   Continuation of my previous list of anime series not so well known for their titles, some not necessarily underestimated, but easy to go unnoticed in the community.   Exhausted Studio Ghibli's filmography but want more? These anime have a visual presentation evocative of your favorite Ghibli films, but aren't made by Ghibli themselves.   Only TV shows included since you can count almost all movies here.   Sometimes, we want shows just for the sake of experiencing the deep emotions that make us value what we have in our lives. The inner peace we get after the tears wet our cheeks is needed for us to keep living and valuing our existence and those near and dear to us. I've compiled some of those shows which made me feel that way. I hope you enjoy them to the fullest!  Some anime which may have an unexpected or emotional scene to it that may make you want to cry or feel empty inside. This list includes less romantic (although there still are some), but more of a platonic love tearjerkers as a whole. This list includes no side stories.   Anime with it located in the central city of hustle and bustle in Japan, Tokyo, or strongly reminiscent of this city. |
