Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru

The Red Ranger, Tougo Asagaki, finds himself transported to another world in the middle of a fierce battle against forces of evil. Upon arriving, he quickly makes a name for himself as an adventurer and takes on a job from a young mage named Yihdra Arvoln. With his eccentric powers and frenzied personality, Tougo blazes through the mission with her.

After the quest, Tougo and Yihdra begin adventuring together with their respective goals. Tougo strives to help as many as possible in the new world and find a way back home, while Yihdra desires to redeem her family lineage of mages and make magic accessible to everyone. Along their journey, the duo discover the limitations yet endless potential of the bonds they forge as they overcome adversities to achieve their aspirations.

Preliminary (11/12 eps)

If you grew up watching Super Sentai shows, you’ll definitely appreciate this anime. I noticed some other reviews seem to miss the point — they don’t recognize that this is a parody, nor do they seem to understand what Super Sentai is all about.

This anime is a fun, deliberate mashup of Super Sentai and isekai tropes. It’s not meant to be taken seriously — and the show itself knows that. It fully embraces the flashy, over-the-top style of Super Sentai, and that’s exactly the point. It’s a well-executed parody of the franchise.

I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll keep it vague. But one ... of the best parts of the anime is seeing how the MC’s past experiences reflect the way he acts throughout the series. There are a few moments where this becomes clear, but it really culminates at the end. I’m excited to see how it all plays out in episode 12!

If you’re unfamiliar with Super Sentai, this one might not land for you — but for fans, it’s an entertaining tribute that doesn’t hold back. But, I recommend this show to anyone who likes Super Sentai shows; especially with a little isekai tossed in for fun.

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (4/12 eps)

Lowji is boring, very boring. The criticism here is about Lowji, because for me the way he was made ruins the group. It's annoying to see characters who are just based on idolizing others and forgetting about themselves and connecting with other characters. This doesn't create a personality for the character, it just becomes empty and isn't even funny, it's just more annoying. There is no way to create a connection for the character if his actions are based solely on feeling angry at anyone who has any interaction with his "beloved". For me it takes away some of the interest of the anime, the ... fact that it is one of the main ones is the problem, because if it were a secondary one, that would be fine, it would appear and disappear. Now, every episode has to see the same thing of him being boring, because he thinks the Planet is called Teltina. It's okay to repeat the joke, for example Red Ranger, but the point is that Lowji's actions aren't funny, they're just boring. It's not a saturated joke, since it's not even funny.

See. I can't recommend this despite watching quite a bit of it. I'll eventually finish it, but like.

This show is everything wrong with the modern anime industry.

It's a shitty uninspired isekai for one.

But here's the thing, why does it look so ugly, gaudy and cheap?

i'm talking about the megazord as the main example. Back when i got into anime, mecha was beautiful. Eureka 7 which had like 50 episodes? The show may have been flawed. But the mecha animation was great.

There's none of that here. This show just looks so cheap with the CGI megazord. I first saw it, and I wondered, why does mecha ... look so ugly nowadays.

I mean, even the ugly mechs of the 2000s like FMP and Macross F look better, and those shows have the excuse of being near or more than 20 years old.

I'm tired bro. I really am. I don't think I'm getting too old for anime, its that the industry is getting dumbed down. The best anime I've watched even as a 30+ year old guy are all older shows that I put off watching or haven't finished in the past few years.

The worst is modern seasonal stuff.

Anime is so uninspired these days. They don't even try.
