A Yonkoma (literally, "four-cell") Manga, better known as 4-Koma, is a short comic that consists of four panels arranged vertically from beginning to end, often adopting a plot structure known as "Kishotenketsu". Like western comic stripsnote , they are often found in newspapers, magazines, graphic novels, and other places. 4-Koma can be single-shot gags, or tell a story across several strips. (Notice that it isn't shikoma.) Expect nothing short of a Rapid-Fire Comedy from 4-Koma mangas, since they fire at least one joke every four frames.

The yuri anime genre unfortunately has a reputation for creating relationships between female characters that are incredibly ambiguous. This is a list of anime in which the romantic/sexual relationship between the two girls is very clear (and not one-sided). The girls in question should be major characters and their relationship should be one of if not the biggest driving point(s) of the show. No hentai titles, as adding even one would get the whole list marked nsfw. Some representation on this list is better than others, and I have provided an opinion under each title.

This is a stack of Anime which each have a Main Cast of 6 or More Females, no less, only more, and no males will be in these Main Casts.

This list also includes anime based on manga serialized in one of Manga Time Kirara’s “sister” magazines.

Yuri anime based on manga from magazine has its own interest stack because it will have a “distinct style”.

Here are the associated characteristics:
-titles are usually slice-of-life with comedy
-they usually have a pretty relaxed and easy-going vibe
-there is sometimes a topic the anime revolves around that you will learn about over the course of the show (could be a sport or could be something like pottery)
-the character designs will always be cute girls. If there are adult women, they will still have a cute look. You can say it’s “moe”.
-typically, there will be no boys or men in the cast except maybe as background characters. There are exceptions, though
-they often don’t have much of a plot or goal that the characters are working towards. They really are all about the jokes, the vibe, and whatever subject the characters are interested in
-the yuri will typically not be explicit. The most you will get is suggestive jokes and characters having fantasies. Actual relationships rarely happen. You probably won’t see a kiss. You probably won’t hear a character outright say “I love you”. If you need to see things like kisses and love confessions, most of these shows likely won’t be ones that you’ll like.

Characters in relationships or infatuated with characters who are much older or younger than they are.

Just as a warning, this stuff may be offensive to many viewers because of issues like adults or teenagers being interested in very young characters and uneven power dynamics. Make your own decision on whether this kind of thing is right for you and what your limits are.

Here are things to keep in mind:
-being written by a woman doesn’t mean it won’t have fanservice
-being written by a woman doesn’t mean it won’t have elements which could be considered offensive
-the primary staff of most anime is men, and most anime is directed by men
-the sexual orientation of manga artists, light novel authors, and anime staff are generally kept private
-“who exactly wrote this?” isn’t always an easy question to answer. Let’s say there was a card game, then a manga, then an anime. Who would you credit, in that case?

In my opinion, people make assumptions about anime written by men and anime written by women, and those assumptions are only sometimes true. I do find that anime written by men and anime written by women feel “different”, but not in the ways that people tend to expect it when asking for shows written by women.
