The Oofuji Noburou Award (大藤信郎賞) is an animation award given at the Mainichi Film Awards. It is named after Japanese animator Noburou Oofuji. Anime with great worldbuilding, or the development of the fantastical environment and world! None of these anime take place in what you would call 'our universe', rather taking place in an alternative universe or fantasy/ sci-fi setting with amazingly well-tailored and fitting details in technologies and architecture that makes every world unique. ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ This list contains all movies that aren't related with any anime series. (Pre 2014) Classic 20th-century series and films that most old-school otaku have heard of and many older fans will cite as the reason they became a life-long weeb in the first place. Some have gotten sequels or modern reboots, while others have been relegated to the past and stand alone as fondly-remembered products of their time. If you want to take a journey through anime history, these shows are the place to start! This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). SBS - the free to air channel with actual international content that everyone either spends 5 minutes watching or 3 hours watching, no in-between. They used to air a fair bit of anime alongside their normally scheduled programming, and you might even be able to catch a few Ghibli films every now and then today. Titles in which the characters are piloting flying devices (planes, brooms, etc) within the atmosphere. The characters being pilots is relevant to the plot, and during a big part of screen time there is action in the air. When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them. Very few stories can craft a setting that leaves a memorable impression, in fantasy fiction creators tend to fall back on safe and familiar settings which to me is always a missed opportunity in a story. These are anime that go above and beyond to envision and breathe life into unique and inspired worlds. A significant artistic effort is put into the locations, technology, vehicles, clothing, props, and architecture of these anime and have been masterfully crafted to facilitate these stories. //List of shows that (to my knowledge) have an italian dub These are anime Adaptations that came out before their source material was finished or for some other reason the staff decided to conclude in their own way. A stack anime series and movies (mostly Ghibli) that have a female protagonist from my completed anime list. Dieselpunk is a retrofuturistic subgenre of science fiction that combines the aesthetics of the diesel-based technology of the interwar period through to the 1950s with retro-futuristic technology. |
