Historical anime set in the Hein period + a few that feature Abe no Senmei.

The Heian era marked the height of Japan’s initial imperial aristocracy. With a strong focus on the arts, poetry, and literature; it cultivated the rise of samurai skilled in both aesthetics and battle. The Heian period essentially set the stage for the eventual shogunate and feudal period. Although seen as a rather peaceful era, it was actually rife with not all-out battles, but rather intrigue and power grabs behinds the scenes by the country’s most powerful and influential families; namely the Fujiwara, Genji (Minamoto), and Heike (Taira) clans.

This list is intended for those that have fallen off newer anime or are looking for more modern recommendations. I think each of these will be regarded as a classic in the future by avid anime watchers.

It includes shows that have had their first season start airing in 2010 or later.

The list will constantly update as I watch more

This stack is dedicated to historical anime that have significant fantasy elements based on Japanese national folklore. A kind of fantasy chambara. The main criteria were a more or less realistic historical setting and significant elements of Japanese folklore (both natural and magical realism). But if you know of other shows that could be useful for this stack, then feel free to recommend them to me.

I watched all of these anime during Spring 2024

Top anime (in my opinion)
New in Spring 2024:
1. KAIJUU 8-GOU, In a world filled with Kaijuu monsters, MC, a kaiju corpse cleaner, turns into a Kaijuu and uses his powers to fight Kaijuu by joining the Japanese Defense Force. Adapted from the popular manga with the same title, produced by Production I.G so it displays good action and fight scenes including top 3DCGI, there are comedy scenes too

2. WIND BREAKER, Fighting between high school gangs, initially MC just wanted to be the strongest then he entered Furin High School where the school is a gang that protects society, adapted from the manga with the same title, very good hand to hand wrestling scene and details, then there are funny scenes/moments

3. JIISAN BAASAN WAKAGAERU, A couple of grandparents who have lived together for decades, one day they became young again because they ate a golden apple. Adapted from a manga with the same title, it presents a slice of life story which has many moral messages, teaches about family relationships and friendship, there are funny moments but there are also sad moments which depict the togetherness/moments of the grandparents couple whose age has reached its limit.

Sequel:
1. BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA S7, continuation of the Hero vs Villain battle

2. KIMETSU NO YAIBA S4, Hashira Training Arc

3. KUROSHITSUJI S4, Public School Arc, Ciel received orders from the queen because the queen's nephew, who was at school, did not come home, to investigate this, Ciel entered as a student at the school. As usual, about half the season presents fun things and the MC tries to get along with the people at the crime scene while carrying out the queen's orders

Completed: SHUUMATSU NO WALKURE, The large number of humans doing things that make the gods angry (such as destroying nature, etc.) makes the gods decide to destroy humans, but this is blocked by a Valkyrie and she suggests holding a one-on-one Ragnarok fight between 13 Gods Vs 13 Humans chosen to decide whether humans should be destroyed or not.
Adapted from the manga with the same title. The plot is quite slow because every fight is really detailed. There has been criticism of the anime because there are fight scenes that are like PPT, but the storyline is still interesting. The gods and humans are also quite famous, such as Poseidon, Hades, Thor, Zeus, Hercules, Shiva, Buddha, Adam, Lubu, Jack The Ripper, Okita Soji, etc. In my opinion, an interesting fight is Hercules (God) vs Jack The Ripper (Human) because it is sad, a murderer but represents the human side, while the god who is a former human who protects humans actually represents the god side and in my opinion it is quite sad in this fight, but there are other fights too. no less interesting

Movie: HAIKYUU THE DUMPSTER BATTLE, Karasuno vs Nekoma match, Salute the camera movement (cinematography) in every scene during the match, but unfortunately the duration is short, next Movie Final Part II Karasuno Vs Kamomedai

Top Anime Opening Songs of Spring 2024
1. "Sugar Blood Kiss" by FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE (Vampire Dormitory), adaptation of the manga by Ema Toyama (If Nakayoshi readers definitely know this author), FL has always looked male (unlikely no one realizes that she is a woman, including ML even though beautiful, not like men), living in a sedentary life because she was staying with her relatives, one day she was thrown out and was looking at a bridge, then slipped and was saved by ML. FL is allowed to live with ML in the men's dormitory on the condition that FL gives his blood (which ML says is not tasty) to ML, who is the successor to the vampire king.

2. "Stardust Memory" by Takaya Kawasaki (Bartender: Kami no Glass), Remake of the 2006 anime, Miwa and her partner are looking for a bartender to run the bar counter at the Cardinal Hotel. The hotel management only demands one thing from the candidates, namely that the bartender must be able to make the best drink known as "Glass of God", then Miwa meets the MC at Eden Hall. The bar there provides drinks that can ease the customers' worries at any time. Every glass served providing much needed entertainment for the people who come

3. "Obake Himawari" by Pii (Tonari No Youkai San), a village where humans, demons/youkai, gods live side by side, youkai here are animals/objects that transform/reincarnate to become like humans/living creatures

Top Anime Ending Songs of Spring 2024
1. "Nobody" by OneRepublic (Kaijuu No.8)

2. "Blue Star" by Sayaka Yamamoto (Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf wo Yome ni Shitanda ga, Dou Medereba Ii?), in a world where wizards are feared by humans, the MC who is a wizard buys a female elf slave when there is an auction for the king's relics devil (the strongest magicians are called devil kings), because the MC usually lives alone, at first it was a bit awkward to talk to the elf he bought (the MC is Tsundere)

3. "Iro no Naka” by Aoi Kubo (Tonari No Youkai San)
