New Interest Stack
Interest StacksAnime can be more than the same one trick pony we see time and time again... A medium for varied and complex approaches to storytelling. English dubs that I found to be really good and are at least comparable to (if not better than) their subbed counterparts. Part 1 - https://myanimelist.net/stacks/885 This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). Everyone knows Studio Ghibli's amazing work, but what about the other studios? When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them. Very few stories can craft a setting that leaves a memorable impression, in fantasy fiction creators tend to fall back on safe and familiar settings which to me is always a missed opportunity in a story. These are anime that go above and beyond to envision and breathe life into unique and inspired worlds. A significant artistic effort is put into the locations, technology, vehicles, clothing, props, and architecture of these anime and have been masterfully crafted to facilitate these stories. List of anime with attractive aesthetics and story for young and old. They stand out for having a western or remarkable visual aesthetic from the rest. This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series This list includes arthouse/avantgarde anime movies, so that's anything over 50 minutes, for example: Angel's Egg, Mindgame, Belladonna of Sadness. The idea: Listing lesser known movies or at least not wanting to include big studio Ghibli titles, Shinkai, Satoshi Kon or Hosoda movies. Yes that series has a game/ is a game. As I collect anime games I want to help people find games for series they enjoy. No this is not related to mobile games, maybe I’ll do a stack for those in the future though🤔 These are tied to Console and PC systems, I won’t list specifics though but searching “[insert series] game” will help you find it. There will be multiple parts coming out! |
