Toonami was a block in Cartoon Network Latin America created in 2002 mostly dedicated to anime, which served as the main hub of the medium in LatAm TV until its cancellation in 2007. After the block's death, anime slowly became a rarity in Cartoon Network Latin America, slowly disappear from LatAm airwaves until becoming all but extinct, with very few airing across the 2010s.

Toonami was revived in 2020 with Crunchyroll's support to air more anime in the channel, but the block would eventually die again in 2022 after Sony bought the streamer, ending its deal with Cartoon Network. Wanner Channel's Wanime block was born as a spiritual successor shortly afterwards.

That second death was not to last, as the new channel Adult Swim announced they would bring back Toonami as part of its schedule, with the Wanime block holding on until 2024 in wait of its return the same year.

Note: For obvious reasons, all Western series aired in the block, such as Justice League, won't be included in this stack.

List of animated series set in Japan during the Taishō period (1912-1926).

Animes are listed in alphabetical order. There is no requirement regarding genres or themes, aside from just the action taking place during the Taishō period, or being either heavily inspired by it or any event happening during this period of Japanese history.

Naturally, the list might be updated in the future. For more details about bigger updates, please take a look at the bottom of this Interest Stack's description ("Updates" section.)

Please be aware of the possibility of finding both historically accurate animes and shows presenting alternative history; or simply rather realistic series listed alongside ones that feature supernatural elements, albeit without getting overwhelmed with them. That's why I highly recommend reading the synopsis of a show that will catch your attention.

The list does not include sequel series. If you are interested in checking them, you might just use certain anime's page on MyAnimeList and see which series are marked as related to it.

Updates:
31th March 2024 - specifying the description of this Interest Stack even further; adding two new anime (Kaze Tachinu; Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon)

This stack is dedicated to shows that are either inspired by Takarazuka or directly dedicated to it. Takarazuka is an iconic Japanese all-female theater group from the city of the same name, that is widely known for their authentic musicals, homoerotic reputation and huge influence on Japanese women's culture. In most cases, it is either about the characteristic prince-ish girls "ottokoyaku" (of a certain aesthetic, not just androgynous ikemen onna), the so-called "Takarazuka couples" (a romantic or homoerotic pair of female characters inspired by ottokoyaku and musumeyakku), and various theatrical aesthetics, but there may also be direct quotation and demonstration of the troupe's activities.
