Remi from 'Ie Naki Ko Remi' is an orphan like Anne from 'Konnichiwa Anne'. Both characters have got difficult lives though they are only children. Both anime are masterpieces of drama and slice of life genres! Both anime are a must!

This recommendation is mostly based on the two protagonists of both anime. Erin and Anne are able to reach the other characters and the viewer's hearts. They are cheerful and very passionate about what they do. They also share a tragic background and it is worth noting that the supporting characters around these two help develop their personalities. While one of the anime is set in a fantasy world and the other on the real world you can watch both characters grow emotionally and physically and works passionately to achieve their dream even though they face many unfortunate events. You should also definitely check Akage no  read more

Both anime's setting is the same time period and country, England in the 19th century. Both anime's main characters are girls coming from middle class background, who charm people from superior backgrounds. Both anime depict the development of those girls in a heart-warming manner. If you enjoyed watching Emma, you might want to give Konnichiwa Anne a try, you won't be disappointed.

The next installment to the World Masterpiece Theatre Series. Konnichiwa Anne, or Before Green Gables, is the prequel to the 1979 classic by Isao Takahata. If you liked Anne, then you'd probably like to find out about her past.

Both are sweet anime of the slice of life genre which have an European setting. The protagonist is a little girl, orphaned, but very talkative, cheerful, and nature-loving. These series have overall the same characteristics and feeling.

Anne and Cosette both have a miserable childhood, full of harship and work. Still they can take delight in some little things to lighten of their misery and keep themselves somewhat optimistic. Both are also part World's Masterpiece Series.
