Overtake!

both narrate the competitive history of the automotive industry. While Overtake focuses on something more "realistic" (Formula 1 genre), Highspeed Etoile already gives off a more cyberpunk vibe. Although one is in the future and the other is more current, people will definitely love both animes if they like the racing genre. 

Similarities: Both have Racing as their main theme. Both have the same MC that has to undergo certain difficulties to get to the top. Dissimilarities: One was more like a formula 1 kind of racing, while the other one is more of stock car kind of racing. One has romance involve while one is more of a slice of life.

If you are talking about racing/ motorsports, Initial D has to be the holy grail. Both main characters start from the bottom and build up their career/reputation 

Photographer as MC with a potential fetish it seems. It is rather similar in that sense to Speed Grapher. However, Speed Grapher does come with super powers instead of racing. So if the photographing stuff is your kinda thing this might be worth a watch. Just based on the first episode.
