Both of the main characters undergo a training regime, turning from ordinary people w/o special traits or powers into saviors. They also have lots of messaging about how anyone can be a hero.

Both have a similar concept about how heroes gain their powers based on the beliefs of the populace. Essentially once their fans believe that their heroes could do something, that belief manifests into reality
