New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks![]() ![]() Anime with great worldbuilding, or the development of the fantastical environment and world! None of these anime take place in what you would call 'our universe', rather taking place in an alternative universe or fantasy/ sci-fi setting with amazingly well-tailored and fitting details in technologies and architecture that makes every world unique. ![]() ![]() ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ ![]() ![]() This list consists of psychological titles, which helped me to accept inevitability and cope with alienation, as well as some other existentional fears, thereby affected my personality above all others. Anime that makes you realise a lot about the meaning of human life and death, relationships, principles and most important: "self-concept". ![]() ![]() This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). ![]() ![]() The "Scotland Loves Anime" film festival takes place annually in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was started in 2010 and includes the "Golden Partridge" jury award and audience-voted awards. ![]() ![]() "Elitist" has been a very generic and broad term to generalise many types of not-so-mainstream or "deep" anime, so this list is very diverse and it's criteria are not always clear cut and objective. Nonetheless I try to provide a proper explanation for why each entry is included. Generally speaking these are shows that fit one OR more of these adjectives: Experimental, Avant-Garde, Psychological, Philosophical, Obscure, Classic, Critically Acclaimed, Artsy, Old, etc... ![]() ![]() Melancholy, sadness, nostalgia, and sorrow, are mixed up with surreal colors and beautiful animation. ![]() ![]() Shows/movies where an advanced A.I. is a main character (usually as an android) or the show focuses on the dilemma surrounding their existence. When you think about it, humanity isn't that far away from achieving it. ![]() ![]() Surreal anime that have an upbeat tone! ![]() ![]() 100% purity here! Not a single bit of nonsense relating to sex. ![]() ![]() When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them. ![]() ![]() OVAs and movies that aired in Spain's TV channels (public or private), listed with the Spanish title. Might be missing some or be messy: I wanted to add the most important but also the less obvious. ![]() ![]() Anime that are especially eye catching visually, often in it's background art and/or general aesthetic. aka anime I find myself taking lots of screenshots of. Only one entry per series. Will be updated as I watch more stuff. ![]() ![]() This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series |
