Ok, it's a bit unfair to recommend a sequel, right? however, in this case it is a little different. MFG changed several concepts developed in Initial D, we went from illegal 1-on-1 drifts popular in the 80s/90s in Japan with popular and cutting-edge cars of the time to a lap racing model with 15 supercars in a points model similar to the porshe cup for example. however, we maintain different aspects between the works, the line is the same, the traditional eurobeats, although contained, are present, some things we loved in Initial d were left aside in MFG and others that we wanted to see more of were highlighted well in an overview if you started with Initially you will have to leave nostalgia aside to enjoy MFG, and if you knew Katagiri kanata first than Takumi fujiwara you will be surprised that there is no race during the day but it is very unlikely that I would like to see that instead of a gt86 there will be a mythical ae86 flying through Akina's harpins. read more 

MF Ghost has concluded and Initial D fans seem disappointed because it was a bad successor. Wangan Midnight will not leave you disappointed. It uses incredible CGI and the MC an OP kid who drives an old boat, like AE86.  

Similarities: Both have Racing as their main theme. Both have the same MC that has to undergo certain difficulties to get to the top. Dissimilarities: One was more like a formula 1 kind of racing, while the other one is more of stock car kind of racing. One has romance involve while one is more of a slice of life.
