New Interest Stack
Interest Stackslist of psychological, strange and experimental anime. Some anime OVAs dating back to this time, with not many movies included. Anime that are especially eye catching visually, often in it's background art and/or general aesthetic. aka anime I find myself taking lots of screenshots of. Only one entry per series. Will be updated as I watch more stuff. I remember going to the video store, browsing the shelves, and picking out a movie based on the box art alone. I'd look at the front, I'd look at the back, and more often than not I'd put it back on the shelf. Occasionally there'd be something like Ghost in the Shell or Ninja Scroll, and I knew I just had to rent it, or more accurately get my parents to rent it. This interest stack contains mostly obscure OVAs from the 80s/90s (but there are some newer and/or more famous ones as well) that fall into the "so bad it's good" category. These anime are REALLY bad but they still can provide a good laugh with your friends while watching some of the most crappy/WTF/cringe/weird/poorly written/poorly animated/poorly drawn anime. anime within the cyberpunk genre or including various cyberpunk elements. suggested to me from various sources Before the likes of Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon conquering the kids in the west, it was actually Akira that opened the door and made people realize that the cartoons coming from Japan weren't what you would expect from Disney or your TV channels. Every cinema or direct to video anime film that came out in 1985. Anime with "out-there" concepts. |
