Although the two are in different settings where My Melody is in modern day Japan and Fushigiboshi is on a made-up location being on a star, they share a similar aspect of fantasy components and magic throughout. There is good vs. bad at play between the two where the encounters they make through friendship are prevalent to their stories. Innocent romance between kids is also quite the factor between both shows too that play a bit on the plot but do not serve as the main purpose to the whole show in both.

Since Fine likes sweets, she kind of reminded me of Ichigo in Yumeiro Patissiere. They are both cute animes that everyone likes.

Both have two girls who are best friends that have a mission in which they use powers to do things. In both there is a little romance, some comedy, and magic. Also, they both have the perfect character in the story turn to the dark side in the later episodes.

These 2 titles take place in fantasy worlds, and have child main characters who go on a rampage when confronted with unfamiliar feelings like envy and jealousy. Hyuu in "Popolocrois Story" is not so nice to begin with, and she already has powers, but gets catapulted into another world and situations she is not accustomed to. When she follows her feelings  read more

- Show with similar setting (the comedy part) - Both of their main character is princess in training While Di Gi Charat is full comedy, Fushigiboshi no☆Futagohime is a bit serious.

These 2 titles have some similarities. A magic world is on the verge of losing its source of life. The heroine(s) travel the magic world in order to prevent the catastrophe. The magic worlds consists of various habitats with different characteristics. Also, the main antagonist is similar in looks and lineage... If you look at the points mentioned above more closely, you also see differences. In Birthday Wonderland, the areas look fantastic. However, they are not really expanded upon and remain no more than ornamental backgrounds. The villain's background is only briefly explained at the end. During the movie, he mostly takes part in petty thievery and vandalism. A pitiful  read more

If you enjoy kiddy magical girls filled with sparkles and never-ending kawaii powers, you'll find a lot of similarities in these two animes: - You have Magical Girls that are Princesses. - A mysterious Prince. - Talking magical animals. - Saving the world with the power of Kindness and love. The art is extremely colorful and both feature a magical kingdom.
