Classic 20th-century series and films that most old-school otaku have heard of and many older fans will cite as the reason they became a life-long weeb in the first place. Some have gotten sequels or modern reboots, while others have been relegated to the past and stand alone as fondly-remembered products of their time. Anime series, OVAs and Movies transmitted in Locomotion Channel between 1999 and 2005.


Locomotion was a Latin American cable channel dedicated to anime and animated shows targeting primarily an 18–34 audience, broadcasting movies, TV series and shorts. It was launched on 1 November 1996 and was closed down on 31 July 2005.

Slice of life stories with a supernatural twist, with characters usually falling into incidental perils thanks to supernatural or magical significant others or family members who bring all kinds of magical hi-jinx into the protagonist's lives.

Locomotion was a subscription television channel that broadcast various genres of adult animation 24 hours a day.

Its administrative headquarters and its broadcast center were located in Miami (United States) and, since mid-2003, the broadcast center was moved to Buenos Aires (Argentina).

What stood out the most from the programming was the massive inclusion of uncensored anime, several of these broadcast in the original language with subtitles for the first time in Latin America.

The channel was a space for the counterculture and the alternative young adult public of the time.

Ah! My Goddess! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōsuke Fujishima. It was serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon from September 1988 to April 2014, with its chapters collected in 48 tankōbon volumes.

The series was adapted into an original video animation produced by Anime International Company (AIC), and an anime series which aired from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, AIC has developed two OVAs and a film, and OLM, Inc. has also developed an anime series as well.

As of June 2020, the manga had over 25 million copies in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series. In 2009, Oh My Goddess! won the 33rd Kodansha Manga Award for the general category.
