These are darker based animes that are written for a female audience. not necessarily just horror but certainly not your average light-hearted girl romance. (but nothings wrong with that either!)

also if there's anything you wish to recommend dont be afraid to send me a dm!!!

Anime with men who have all of the following traits:

1. Is a either a biological father, adoptive father, an unofficial father figure in a younger character's life (eg. a mentor), or simply has DILF Energy ™ (in which case he must be old enough to be a dad and older than other main characters)
2. Is attractive. You know what the F in DILF means.

And some of the following traits:

1. Tries to be a dad but is a disaster and/or inexperienced. Alternatively, he doesn't try at all and is just horrible.
2. Is emotionally constipated.
3. Is very good at his career and is well respected or even feared in his profession.
4. Puts his career before his children.
5. Looks disheveled / scruffy / tired / dead inside all the time.
6. Indulges in self destructive behavior (smoking, endangering his life, gambling, etc).
7. Has a tragic backstory.
8. Dies during the anime or before it even starts. Automatic tragedy points.

All entries name the relevant character(s) in question. Entries are ranked by how central the character's fatherhood is to their story. Descriptions may contain SPOILERS.

These are some of the BL anime I’ve seen and enjoyed! I hope you find some interesting ones in here. I have some older one’s in here and in some of those there are dubious consent so fair warning for that. Make sure to check which one’s are which so that you aren’t blindsided by it. These aren’t in any particular order either. I hope you enjoy these!

The included anime contain multiple mysterious cases that are only loosely connected, or not connected at all.

The cases may take more than one episode to get resolved.

Open to suggestions.

Mystery anime that center around a series of deaths, assaults, or disappearances that are somehow connected. Possibly feature: serial killers, organized crime, supernatural elements, etc.

Episodic mysteries will be excluded if the string of crimes is limited to its own arc and not a part of an overarching narrative.

--------

Open to suggestions.

Title says it all. This list focuses on animes where the main theme is mystery (some kind of detective/supernatural help agency might be involved) and the 2 main characters have some kind of thing going on (with varying levels of canon-ness)

Warning; tone/additional genres vary a LOT. pay attention to them so that you dont end up watching something you dont want to see, lmao

Animeby mega_prize

Anime specializing in various supernatural and paranormal tropes, usually with mystery and investigation underlying. This stack places weight on the more spiritually focussed paranormal anime.

As in, this isnt just anime with ghosts. There's usually a deeper grasp of the details around the paranormal displayed in these anime that present more compelling and believable paranormal themes. Some that are on here are spiritual in a more personal sense, that they stimulate your spirit in a deep way, not always that the anime itself has spirits.

But energies / ghosts / spirits / yokai are usually present. Based on whether the anime left an intellectual impression or not, some may think the anime on here aren't worth it if you're not in an open mind.

Here we will see modern & magic world come together in a practical manner that is very tangible, a feeling of realism, as if this is how one would actually do magic, herbalism, old medicine.

In these anime, Lots of Time spent on the details on practicality of application of the magic and herbal arts. Balance between divulging theory and showcasing it's practice, Not just all action like some magical anime, but, many magical anime do spend some time explaining the world's concepts and magical theories - I just find these anime to do it in a more deep and realistic way. Many times with actual historical references that back the claims.

Some shows that give me this vague indescribable feeling. Sort of comforting, sort of not. Kind of emptyish maybe? There is just no way to say it accurately. No particular genres but they somehow have something in common. Lmk if you guys get what I mean. I'll add more once I find more. Idek what tags to put so I'll put none :)

Here are some anime/donghua that were surprisingly enjoyable and have around or less than 100K members.

*I tried my best to pick only the ones that don't have unnecessary or bad fanservice, don't sexualize teens/children and don't have boring and overdone plots!

'Buddy cop is a genre with plots involving two people of very different and conflicting personalities who are forced to work together to solve a crime and/or defeat criminals, sometimes learning from each other in the process' - wikipedia

As an avid enjoyer of buddy cop I present to you a list of shows that encompass the idea of two opposite personalities working together (usually to solve crime, but may be commiting crimes, may be no crimes at all 0-0)

Ordered by relevancy (personal opinion)(tried my best dont @ me QWQ)

(I ramble a lot ^obviously, but I have added summaries of the dynamics in brackets for each show (VERY ROUGH SUMMARIES))
