The God of High School PV

You know just how badly the webtoon was adapted by MAPPA when a 1 minute 43 second long video does a much better job presenting the webtoon than the actual anime itself.

I honestly don't know why MAL took around 4 years to finally add this to the database as it was released onto YouTube back in May 2016, but here we are, and now I can tell you why a 103 second long video performed a lot better than a 13 episode long anime.

The most noticeable difference between this and the anime is the art style, and it's something I prefer a lot more, surprisingly ... enough. The biggest change has to go to Yu Mi-Ra, as well as the fact that the characters don't look like they have colds. Yu Mi-Ra in my opinion looks 10 times more better looking (and attractive) and should've retained the same character design for the anime (and maybe for some of the other characters). The animation for this is beautiful just like the anime, so I have no problems there.

The music is really decent too. The female singer Younha did a really good job of matching her singing to the visuals and the atmosphere of the video. It's really catchy and there's a full version of the song that you can find on YouTube.

Maybe it's a good thing the mods decided to add this entry after the anime ended, it gives us a really good comparison of the anime and shows us what the end product should've looked like. Overall, this is a solid piece of animation and does a better job representing parts of the webtoon in comparison to the TV show.

It is literally a Preview for the "God Of High School" video game that came out even before the original anime series which came out in Japan. So, first of all, it's no ONA and secondly don't waste your time here.

I didn't even know this existed until I got a notification on MAL, and I must say, I went in not expecting much and came out pleasantly surprised.

At this point, I don't think there is a single person in the anime community who hasn't heard of "The God Of Highschool." It blew up this year with its anime adaptation from the original Webtoon. This was released much earlier than the anime on the "YD Online" YouTube channel. Now, on with the review.

Story-
This ONA doesn't really have a story, you have no clue what's going on, who these people who are fighting each other are, none ... of that. Then again, it's only 1 minute 43 seconds long so that can't be helped.

Art-
I actually prefer the art in this more than I do in the actual show. The fight scenes animation in the show is overall better, but this one just looks better to me.

Sound-
It's a pretty nice background song. The singer did a nice job, But the song just isn't for me.

Character-
Same with the story, there's no character development whatsoever. We don't know who this man in the hospital bed is, who this school girl training with a sword is, etc.

Enjoyment-
I did enjoy it quite a bit, I don't regret watching it at all. It was nothing extremely good, but I still liked it.

Overall-
Overall it did pretty well for a 1:43 ONA, and if you haven't, I recommend you go watch it!
