New Interest Stack
Interest StacksAnime where the story takes place mostly in rural areas or far from urban cities. (In construction) Only some though because there's obviously more than 50. Each of the following are one of the most popular anime set in or heavily inspired by an associated Japanese prefecture. They are ordered from Hokkaido to Okinawa (roughly north to south). A list of anime containing ecchi elements, but are not tagged as ecchi by MAL. While the ecchi content may not be as prevalent or extreme as officially-tagged ecchi titles, there is still enough to be of interest to fans of the ecchi genre. Many of these register at least 1.5/3 stars on AniDB's "tag-weighting" system for ecchi. any cat appearance :3 It may look like a harem and smell like a harem, but it's not a true harem. Anime with harem elements that lack the qualifications of being full harem anime instead have harem subtext, the topic of this stack. This was partly inspired by the romantic subtext tag, but also the fact that there are many anime out there that may have harems in them, but aren't true harem series. This can often be because the protagonist simply chooses one girl early on and the rest of the 'harem' is left with unrequited love, or perhaps the protagonist has no feelings for any of the girls. Whatever the case may be, the story clearly does not treat enough of the girls as having a serious shot at the protagonist's heart for it to be a true harem series. A very basic, yet common trope in anime. A normal guy, typically down on his luck finally meets the perfect girl! She just shows up in his life. But she's not from earth. She's an alien or is some kind of other otherworldly being. Other references: In the following series, one or several cute girls suddenly start living with the protagonist, pretty early on in the story, in the same house or even in the same room sometimes. My personal Romance focused picks. All of the series in this list have a fairly important amount of slow, relaxing and daily life content, but they do not have the slice of life tag. Usually 1 VA singing the theme song, but not representing the character. (Anime version of this stack: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/47658) Anime that were popular in the early 2000s but are much more rare to hear about nowadays in this list is not 99% accurate main or side char is RIP i dont remember Quite the long title eh? Well, but the statement is true. Most of the times anime on MAL ends up in 6.5 rating category just because there is nothing to spice up the "unique isekai idea" for the 999th time. Of course with proper atmosphere that might as well not be needed, or when you try to send a message of sorts. But even so, you might've not realised it but it's quite popular to insert some subplot notes of romance in the background for those who wish to find that. Even anime like frieren have veeery faint but still apparent romance subplot that does not interfere with the idea of adventure by any means. |
