New Interest Stack
Interest StacksSurreal anime that have an upbeat tone! Art house, in relation to cinema, is a genre of films that are intended to be serious artistic works rather than merely popular entertainment but the descriptor can also be applied to anime. Furthermore, avant-garde refers to innovative, experimental, radical or unorthodox concepts and techniques. This can of course also be used in reference to anime and manga. people tell me I have weird tastes. But I enjoy a good amount of series. I also watch alot that others havent seen, so I wanted to compile some good ones I have enjoyed that many may have not seen. This list includes arthouse/avantgarde anime movies, so that's anything over 50 minutes, for example: Angel's Egg, Mindgame, Belladonna of Sadness. Featuring little to no dialogue and/or characters and the experience is carried by the music and/or visual atmosphere. The criteria here is simple: Anime released in 2001 or earlier, with under 25,000 MAL Members, and which I've rated a 6 or higher. Continuation of the first stack. For those who like the "weird" types of anime Want to watch anime that will make your brain explode? Or do you want to feel confused throughout the entire series? This stack is for you! As the title says, I created a stack called "Avant Garde and the Weirdest Box", and some weird Anime was not listed in it, so they will be listed here. Of course, there will also be Avant Garde anime that are not popular or not known by many people. Despite what the title might suggest, this is a GOOD description. Sort of like saying "Underrated Gem" but the definition is more clear as stated below. Anime that either intentionally or unintentionally reach the uncanny valley. A list of 80s/90s anime OVAs and movies you may not have heard of. Some are good and some are bad, but the bad ones are of the "so bad it's good" variety. Think of this as the anime rack at an old video store. |
