New Interest Stack
Interest StacksThis is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series Anime series and movies that Fujimoto Tatsuki (Chainsaw Man author) mentioned in the Magazine Switch. Could be taken as recommendations. GKIDS is an American film distributor based in New York with, according to the Los Angeles Times, a focus on "sophisticated, indie" animation. GKIDS releases critically acclaimed mostly hand-drawn, international films—such as the works of the independent Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli—to North American audiences. GKIDS also distributes computer animated and stop-motion films in addition to hand-drawn ones, as well as American films by independent filmmakers. The name is said to be an acronym for "Guerrilla Kids International Distribution Syndicate". Anime that can be classified as "edgy", but not in the usual sense (childish and pretensious). These anime have slick styles and aesthetics, you could say they have an edge. Their art usually resembles graphic novels and street art and are overall very stylish. That also echoes on their plots, generally pretty dynamic and fast-paced. That's this kind of edgy. All these anime have leading characters that have no problems killing other people! Anime that has been mentioned/recommended by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man, Fire Punch). LITERALLY kino...... do not even question the kino bro >:( Expect the unexpected; this is a line that best describes this list, a few of these titles exemplify it in uniqueness &/or approach while most encapsulate it in story &/or entirely. Lines so sharp they could cut metal. Based on this video by Brazilian anituber Alexandre Esteves, also known as Jumentossauro, https://youtu.be/ixYtgz1PDiY?si=pPXI9wwLAsTFRnuW |
