Some of the best that classic animation has to offer. I left out some obvious picks since you already know how good something like Akira or Princess Mononoke looks.

Cell animation leaves a particular effect and tone that, if paired with great animation and style, enraptures me like little else can. "They don't make 'em like they used to" some say, these anime are examples are skilled animation that will never be replicated. Although these were produced long before digital anime became common-place, the skill put into these works leaves them timeless.

The lawyer Raphael Lemkin defined genocide as "the destruction of a nation or an ethnic group". We need strong civil societies and functioning system of international law to prevent genocide from happening.

Genocide Watch identified ten stages of genocide: https://www.genocidewatch.com/tenstages

Here is a list of anime that include discussions of genocide, although many of them use the term genocide. Some of them just show the devastation of genocide, others also show resistance and ways to overcome and prevent genocide. Many of the anime are set in SciFi or fantasy scenarios and show genocide with metaphors, some are based on real-life genocides.
