The Tokyo Anime Awards started in 2002, but was named in 2005. The first, second and third award ceremonies were simply named 'Competition'. The award ceremonies were held at the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) until 2013. In 2014, after the merger of the Tokyo International Anime Fair with the Anime Contents Expo and the formation of the AnimeJapan convention, the Tokyo Anime Awards was changed into a separate festival called Tokyo Anime Awards Festival (TAAF). Films that were nominated for the Best Animation of the Year prize given by the Japan Academy Film Prize Association, first awarded in 2007. All five nominees are awarded the Excellent Animation of the Year (優秀アニメーション作品) by the association. Listing all Netflix originals was far easier as some of them are ONAs, as well as the platform itself tells you what are their licenses with their logo on the series cover. However, no Pokemon Journeys or the CGI Mewtwo movie, as they aren't exclusive to them even if marked as if they were. My intent in creating this list is to have a place where you can see the content of the streaming platforms (Just Amazon and Netflix because other platforms have a plethora of content) and because the 'Licensors' profile in MAL doesn't include all shows mentioned. If I miss something that isn't in any of the 'Interest Stacks' please let me know! Animes in which characters are part of millitary or were formerly soldiers. A list of anime that deals with mental illness or other neurodivergence. It may be a main part of the show or just something a main character deals with that contributes to the plot in some way. This is going to be an incomplete stack as I have only seen around 400 shows and there are probably so many that I have missed. If you comment on my profile one that belongs and why, I would love to add it. Some romantic anime which may have an unexpected or emotional scene to it that may make you want to cry or feel empty inside. Keep in mind some of these entries only have a little romantic subtext. This list includes no side stories. Most of these anime should make you cry or just feel emotional. All of these anime are great if you want to have a good cry or just want a beautiful story. Shows that have exceedingly great animation, visuals, etc. Do not expect any of these to even have the slightest plot, though some may have a good storyline. It's all about good animation. *Slightly satirical with spoilers These stories makes your heart ache, makes you cry, makes you rethink life because it's so well written and compelling. Sometimes, we want shows just for the sake of experiencing the deep emotions that make us value what we have in our lives. The inner peace we get after the tears wet our cheeks is needed for us to keep living and valuing our existence and those near and dear to us. I've compiled some of those shows which made me feel that way. I hope you enjoy them to the fullest! Are you a beginner looking for anime movies? then I guess this stack would be useful to you. This is a list full of tearjerkers/sad dramas. If you didn't cry while watching any of these anime/movies, then you might be heartless. |
