Wanwan Sanjuushi

Childhood classics you didn't know were anime. Established western literature stories featuring anthropomorphised animal characters. 

Both are the same story, it is about D'artagnan and the 3 musketeers, the difference is that in Anime Sanjuushi the characters are people and in Wanwan Sanjuushi the characters are animals. Wanwan Sanjuushi is more childish and innocent, on the other hand Anime Sanjuushi has a bigger human touch and toys with your emotions a little bit more. Wanwan Sanjuushi is 26 episodes because it only toys with the musketeers rivalry against the Richelieu guards, while Anime Sanjuushi has 52 episodes, the first part is about that feud and the second part is about the king twins. Wanwan Sanjuushi had a second anime continuation made in 1989 called "The Return of Dogtanian" which explores also the king twins storyline, but that anime had no japanese anime production collaboration, that's why Wanwan Sanjuushi is in this anime site and The Return of Dogtanian is not.
