The older sister is the top idol while the younger sister is not, but OH NO some "accident" happened, making the older sister unable to sing. But don't worry we have a solution, comes the younger sister to save the day by becoming the top idol. While both differ in their atmospheric value, they are however completely identical when it comes to the plot. With both having quite a linear story, one will find both entertaining if they are into those kinds of stuff.

They both have same idol-ish vibe and i think Lapis songs kinda better lmao

These shows are about young girls who experience seemingly circumstances beyond their understanding where they are confronted to solve said issues they encounter in order to develop and improve themselves. At a first glance, there seems nothing that could connect these two; however, it is evident that these series are a product of introducing a mild tone of the standard idol cliché while making itself seem original—and these series are in fact original. These shows are one of the best that I've watched in a while and I've enjoyed every single second of it.

- Both are Idol shows set in a fantasy world. - Both involve a team of high school (or, roughly thereabouts in Mirror’s case) girls with wildly different personalities connecting through song / music. - Both have 2D animation for the most part, with 3D dance numbers interspersed throughout the show. - Both have a focus on overcoming hardships and challenges through the power of friendship.

Although Lapis is an idol anime, The two of these are CGDCT series with a pretty much 100% female cast. They incorporate the concept of magic within the story which play a role in their everyday lives as well as the story aspect.

- Magic girls!!! - While Healer Girl is idol-esque, Lapis Re:LiGHTS is an idol anime - Girls aiming to help their people (whether its to heal or to protect) - Some GL aspects - Beautiful songs with fun lyrics - Characters all have good chemistry

Lacking the idol element, this anime is lighthearted and colourful with enjoyable characters and also includes the fantasy elements you see in Lapis Re:LiGHTs .

If you're looking for Magic Idol Singers with a big heaping of CGDCT and a side of bad guy fighting, then these are the anime you're looking for! Both series feature a large cast of idol hopefuls and their predecessors/mentors, and featured a variety of genre-blending tropes. They're also both multimedia series, having anime, manga, CDs, and real groups behind them. The major differences come from their themes. AKB0048 has a heavily sci-fi, post-apocalyptic series, leading to more action, while Lapis is set in a medieaval-fantasy high school, which lends itself to more slice of life stories.

Magical girls and idols with a twist are the main themes of both series. Each one includes and subverts the tropes from those genres in entertainingly different ways. While the Lapis girls want to save their grades and stop monsters from destroying the world, the Cheer Fruits team are trying to save their town hall from politicians. Both go about achieving their goals by putting on performances, though the style and setting are quite different, both are very entertaining and full of slice of life moments.
