Fuji TV's noitaminA (ノイタミナ) late night programming block which currently broadcasts on Fridays from 00:45 to 1:45. These anime show some scenes twice, but withhold important information the first time, usually to make them appear entirely different. Boy version of the CGDCT genre. Mainly silly comedies and slice of life. These anime have bizarrely unique, wildly niche, or oddly specific concepts. From sentient clothes, to vampires in space, to undead idols, some of these anime may leave you wondering, "who even came up with this idea?..." Not all animes are full of love or make you happy. List of Original Anime Series' (not including sequels/specials/movies) Thrown together for personal reference; does not include shows that I cannot vet the content of due to having no experience watching, and the quality of shows listed is irrelevant. This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious). Anime with yōkai—spirits from the Shinto religion and/or Japanese folklore. Popular types include kitsune (fox spirits), shape-shifting tanuki (raccoon dogs), kappa (river monsters), and oni (ogre-like demons). You won't need to read the manga/novel or wait for a second season. |
