It is similar because people are trapped in a school setting. Also it has a person trying to "redeem" others. Different is that angel beats is dead and caligula is alive

Both involves a group of individuals that found themselves in a virtual world, where they make a choice to either survive or find a way to get out of the game.

Both series feature a cast of characters that wish to find out the secret behind their world. Both series contain two different worlds.

This title also highlights the topic of psychology, perhaps in a slightly different light, but on the whole they are similar.

Reality is falling apart, dangerous creatures aproaches, mysteries and philosophy. Occultic;Nine characters are speaking more about spirits and paranormal, meanwhile Caligula main character is interested in psychology and human behavior. They both have similair style and feel.

Two series with a music-focused plot where the character's trauma and hardships are in the centre of the story. Both are very character driven and present you with a big cast, giving each character their own small arc at some point during the runtime!

Both being based around notable jrpg video game series and both sharing supernatural settings with a young adult cast in it and quite a bit of action as well too.

Both includes characters trapped in the cyber world and has to used their wits to survived, thought one has that dark maho shojo thing the other has more of a triller kinda of thing.
