Interest Stacks  Featuring little to no dialogue and/or characters and the experience is carried by the music and/or visual atmosphere.   Every cinema or direct to video anime film that came out in 1985.   Anime that were used for foreign markets to mix-match together and redub in order to create a wholly original plotline. Also known as Macekre for Carl Macek, creator of the most notable example of this practice, Robotech.   All OVAs from 1983-1985 that I've found so far. This is the majority of them, but I'm probably still missing a few obscure ones, recaps, or miscellaneous releases. One notable OVA excluded from this period is Cream Lemon, on account of it being a hentai series.   Robotech is an American 85-episode adaptation of three unrelated Japanese anime television series (from three different fictional universes) made between 1982 and 1984 in Japan; the adaptation was aired in 1985. |
