Interest StacksWorldbuilding - "the process of constructing a world, originally an imaginary one, sometimes associated with a fictional universe." These kinds of shows are usually set in a fantasy and/or sci-fi world, and excel at establishing & showcasing the rules/history/economy of their fictional universe. List was created through collective data from multiple websites of people's answers as to what shows are considered to have great world building. Part 1: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/1001 Every animated media that has been made has the idea to tell a story and to express a feeling on the watcher. But then, there are some series which has a particular way to evocate their sentiments and they use different tools to do that. Thought provoking writing, displaying the characters' internal monologues, their struggles and fears, using particular cinematographic angles and by blending contrasting styles of animation, coloring and highly symbolical and metaphorical imagery - these are some of the many hallmarks signifying the said animation has psychological themes, and that it is avant-garde in it's approach. This method of expression is not limited to any genre, as well. The scent of the sea, the smell of chlorine from the pool, and the tears that roll down your cheeks. The sea is as abundant as the sand. Below are animes where the MC is associated with the theme of water, or entities that belong to the sea. Water can be raindrops, the sea, the pool, and tears. It is the foundation of water that leads them to love, find purpose, compete, live or just have fun 100% purity here! Not a single bit of nonsense relating to sex. When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them. Very few stories can craft a setting that leaves a memorable impression, in fantasy fiction creators tend to fall back on safe and familiar settings which to me is always a missed opportunity in a story. These are anime that go above and beyond to envision and breathe life into unique and inspired worlds. A significant artistic effort is put into the locations, technology, vehicles, clothing, props, and architecture of these anime and have been masterfully crafted to facilitate these stories. //List of shows that (to my knowledge) have an italian dub These are anime with unique settings and interesting world-building. Some of these are longer and have more time to flesh out the world-building, while others are shorter but very unique. Anime with visually appealing and unique art style and animation that make them stand out as "eye candy." Their vibrant and colorful aesthetics are just as charming as actual sweets too! This is a list of anime with the sci-fi/fantasy theme of cosmic horror. It commonly features monstrous beings or great leviathans. It's sometimes complimented by biopunk, a sci-fi genre about the use of biotechnology. This collection of series, movies and shorts represent a specific mood, expressed within the anime media. Their pace is most likely slow, and are usually focused at the complex emotional web that surrounds the worlds and characters that are within them. Series that I consider to be more than just a dumb animation. |
