Gundam I begins with a military operation by the antagonist to investigate a secret weapon in a space colony, this turns out to be the titular Gundam, a next-generation mecha that overcomes the antagonist's own quickly and goes on a path to turn the tide of the war. Gundam I also features antihero Char Aznable's quest for revenge on the ruling Zabi family that killed his father, one act of revenge results in a funeral which offers the antagonists a chance to turn it into a political rally. Code Geass I does a spin on this with the protagonists also retrieving a "secret weapon" by committing terrorism in a city, however it is a next-generation mecha deployed by the antagonists that stops them. Code Geass I then focuses on protagonist Lelouch's quest for revenge on a royal family that killed a parent of his, resulting in a funeral modelled on a totalitarian political rally. read more
