World Masterpiece Theatre is a Japanese TV anime staple that showcases an animated version of a different classical book or story each year. It originally aired from 1969 to 1997 and then resumed in 2007. WMT series were originally produced by Mushi Production and Zuiyo Eizo, and then by the latter's successor Nippon Animation, and originally air primarily on Fuji Television.

The series has been known by various different names over the years, often reflecting changes to the sponsors, but "World Masterpiece Theatre" is the name most commonly used by viewers. Nippon Animation's official English name for the series is The Classic Family Theater Series.

These classic Nippon Animation series were usually adaptations of well-known literature by non-Japanese authors. Many ran for exactly one year as part of the well-known family-friendly program "World Masterpiece Theater".

*My family's senior dog passed away a few days after I made this stack on July 2022. I dedicate this stack to him (as well as to the ones before and after him). May pet owners who recently lost their pet dog/s find healing with these cute shows about dogs.
*Edit: We've lost 2 senior dogs in a span of 5 months in 2022 (July then December). Heartbreaking!
*Update: Received 2 new puppies from our relative's neighbor on February 2023.
*Another update: Sadly, one of the 2 puppies passed away due to Parvovirus. Also, we got to spend a week or so with another puppy who unfortunately also went away. So, we've lost 2 dogs in a span of 3 days on May 2023. It hasn't been a year since the one I dedicated this stack to died and we already lost 2 more. A total of 4, 2 senior dogs in a span of 5 months and 2 new puppies in a span of days after another 5 months. Devastating! Tight hug to the remaining puppy, she's a survivor.
*Yet another update: Our dog got a new companion on September 2024. We just adopted a new one who happens to look like one of our late senior dogs.
*Late update: Sadly, the one who survived Parvo just passed away on November 2024. So, we've lost a total of 5 dogs from 2022 to 2024. I don't know anymore... 💔 Anyhow, we're planning to adopt another one or two later on so the other one will have some companion. Hopefully, they'll live long like our senior dogs before.
