Excludes anime tagged with the educational theme. Only one sports anime per sport.

While the vast majority of animated works are those of fiction, there are occasionally those that provide legitimate information about the real world, be it that of science or history. This is informative fiction, colloquially known as Edutainment, since it seeks to both educate and entertain.

A typical format often involves characters from an outer frame of reference discovering the topic of interest, though others may involve direct dramatised portrayals of relevant events.

This list is an ongoing collection of shows that can be categorised as such. The only real barrier for entry here is to have the topic that is to be taught as a primary focus of the show, rather than incidental to an otherwise wholly fictional plot.

Anime where the main character travels through time or main theme is time travel. There is a mixture in this list such as the ability to travel through time at will or where they travel through time once in the beginning.

*Note for Manga Hajimete Monogatari seen 20 odds, so episodes and they sparingly talk about the inventor usually just mention the first guy who came up with the theme for today's episode.
