Literally has the same storyline as 'Appli Monsters.' In fact, the series starts exactly how Youkai Watch did.

Both focus on a marketing toy for their respective company 1. They both have a main character who looks like a bootleg taken from the other. 2. The plot is somewhat Identical to the other 3. Character Develpotment focusing of the both sides 4. The final boss is a septent-dragon look-a-like

Both these series revolve around a reserved main character meeting digital creatures and their adventures in the internet. Although Appmon has more battling than PiPoPa, both worlds look and feel very similar.

Both series have the protagonist using a special device to fuse partnered AI creature/digital monster with others to create stronger forms. Both are within the Digimon franchise/universe, one with Digimon and the other with Appmon. Both series have a main trio, two boys and 1 girl, with a potential fourth member in the shadows whose alliance is ambiguous or temporarily antagonistic.

It's basically Dennou Coil meets Yokai Watch. There are many similarities from the AR fields, a protagonist that is more introverted and gentle, a focus on children's shenanigans with technology, but with the occasional helping of technology based nightmare and paranoia fuel, an antisocial hacker searching for their brother on the net, etc. Not to mention that Digimon itself spawned from the virtual pet craze and the Yuko has a virtual pet in the form of Densuke.
