Battle Girl High School

Both animes are about a group of five girls with superpower, with some "magic girl transformation" and fighting against some mysterious monsters to save the world. Both also have a large bunch of secondary characters doing the same thing.

Very similar setting but with more girls... 

Both of these shows throw plot out the window. They have vague reasons why the large groups of girls are important, but don't let those 5 minutes of explanatons fool you: They're about getting a dozen or so anime girls together to do cute things and that's it. They're 80% 'filler' 

all-girls school(s) that legally has contribution and role in fighting against supernatural creatures that threaten humanity. the cute girls in school uniforms are there to protect the world! All Hail Short-Skirted Heroines! 

Not really same formula although both stories have many similarities (high school girls in cute uniforms, all-girls high school, girls wielding melee weapons, lesbian subtext). But if you look at a couple of main heroines from one of the anime, they remind you of a couple of main heroines from the other anime. But unlike Battle Girls High School, Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight is not about girls fighting evil creatures or evil corporate and the girls don't have supernatural powers like magic or something. No such a feature as monster coming from another dimension. Instead, it tells you about girls who struggle to fulfill their dreams of being theatrical stars. read more 

This recommendation is based on the first 3 episodes of Battle Girl High School.
