The Tokyo Anime Awards started in 2002, but was named in 2005. The first, second and third award ceremonies were simply named 'Competition'. The award ceremonies were held at the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) until 2013. In 2014, after the merger of the Tokyo International Anime Fair with the Anime Contents Expo and the formation of the AnimeJapan convention, the Tokyo Anime Awards was changed into a separate festival called Tokyo Anime Awards Festival (TAAF). With the intention of keeping this as comprehensive as possible, I encourage anyone reading to help me find more anime and update the text, particularly of those anime I haven’t watched. You can comment this publication in my profile or send me suggestions/alternative text via PM. Bromance, Male-friendship, Ambiguous ambiance, Fujo-bait you know where it lead. Series that are not BL but have a rich BL potential and fanbase. Includes some popular shippings and shipping potential between the two male leads. List of anime featuring at least one LGBT+ character that aren't BL or GL. I try to only put those that are either confirmed canon (in story or by the author) or so explicitly implied that there's little to none other interpretation. ...or so I thought but apparently they are [redacted] /j Characters in these anime suffer from extreme shyness or social anxiety. Their condition may be caused by past trauma, a mental disorder, or other ongoing problem or phobia that makes it difficult for them to connect with others; such as a fear of physical contact or an aversion to public speaking. Some characters may be fighting to overcome their anxiety - or at least power through it enough to get on with their daily lives - while others have given up trying to come out of their shell and feel isolated or unable to relate to other people. Anime that stray from the typical otaku tropes (female fanservice, overly moe girls, performative yuri, harems etc). Cool, nice, sweet and handsome collection of gentlemen. Romance is optional! ;) Let's face it, we all have that one friend who has a prejudice against anime. (Part 1) Some of the best love stories are in anime you wouldn't expect. This list compiles not only romance anime but great romance IN anime that most likely you would never know without watching it. Here are some I think you will enjoy! This list includes anime from all genres so there is something for everyone! Fantasy, comedy, drama, and more...all guaranteed to make your heart flutter. Does not include sequels or side stories. Thrown together for personal reference; does not include shows that I cannot vet the content of due to having no experience watching, and the quality of shows listed is irrelevant. These are some animes I find very inspirational and beautiful. We can see pure passions of protagonists Various types of series that involve some sort of LGBT representation, be it in characters, relationships, plots, etc. There will be times that I want to watch the next episode but as soon as the op/ed played, I'll vibe to it first. If the anime has more than 1 op/ed, I'll put the specific song/s that I liked in the description. Also, these are all based on my personal taste in music ^^ |
